Abstract :
A heterodyne detection system for the submillimeter wavelength range and its application in airborne astronomy with the Kuiper Airborne Observatory (KAO) are described showing first detection of CO(12-11) at 217 /spl mu/m and CO(14-13) at 186 /spl mu/m in Orion.
