  • Abstract
    We developed non-insulated automatic train protection (ATP) track circuits for Shinkansen. Shinkansen uses insulated ATP track circuits. Non-insulated track circuits have been assumed to be less economical than insulated track circuits. We are developing a new optimized track circuit design and new transmitting and receiving devices with the aim of realizing an overall ATP system, including transmission cables, that is as economical as insulated track circuits.
