Abstract :
In order to control the combustion stability of bulk-loaded liquid propellant gun, the expansion process of gas jet entering liquid was studied by high speed photographic system aiming at the stepped chamber and rectangular chamber. Based on the experiments, two-dimensional model of gas jet expansion process was developed. The unsteady interaction process of gas jet and liquid was simulated by the commercial software FLUENT. The influence of chamber structure on jet expansion was discussed. The calculated results approximately accord with the experimental results.
