Abstract
In this paper, we report the results of the design and the simulation of two configurations of broadband Mach-Zehnder Switches (MZS) exploiting, respectively, two and three waveguides to be used as routers in photonic Networks on Chip (NoC). The simulations are performed by the Finite Element Method (FEM) and by the Finite Difference Beam Propagation Method (FD-BPM). These numerical models are used to obtain the relevant parameters necessary for the modelling and the simulation of the devices at the network level.
