Abstract
A system for measuring tree degradation of three-dimensional phenomena in organic insulating materials using an image processing system is discussed. Using a computerized tomography method, the tree volume immediately after tree initiation and changes in the configuration of the tree were measured. Acrylic acid resin was used as the specimen. A high AC voltage was applied, and tests were conducted. A personal computer was used for the video processing of the tree image. As a result, it was possible to record the tree cross sections and to describe the volume of the tree by three-dimensional measurement
