Abstract :
A synthetic wax is considered which is a product of the polyrecombination of a mixture of dearomatized and deresinificated solid kerosene hydrocarbons. The authors discuss the conditions of reactions and compare the properties of this product with those of synthetic waxes produced and applied previously. The possibilities of applying this kind of wax as an insulating material have been evaluated. The synthetic wax seems to be able to replace hydrophobic substances applied previously for the purpose of increasing the surface resistance of overhead insulators
