Abstract :
We report the feasibility of thin-film-edge emitter devices as electron sources for high brightness cathodoluminescent lamp for possible backlighting of AMLCD. This lamp promises to be of high brightness, high luminous efficiency , temperature invariant with uniform diffuse light output. The thin-film-edge FEA lamp requires less electronic control circuitry leading to lower system costs.
