  • Abstract
    While there is a large and growing market for displays currently being manufactured, a substantially greater market remains open if technological challenges can be met. These challenges include extremely low power, light weight and rugged displays for portable hand-held devices; high transmission light valves for bright large-screen projections; and efficient RGB emissive materials for large direct view displays, to name a few. The lecture will review some of the challenges and present a few solutions under study.
