Abstract
In the current climate of increased necessity for information transparency, the intelligence community (IC) faces challenges in achieving data interoperability. In order to effectively facilitate analysis mechanisms like link discovery and predictive pattern recognition, agencies must enable the discovery and consumption of disparate and co-located data sources within and across organizational boundaries. Agencies are beginning to leverage semantic descriptions of data to promote the advertising and sharing of data, providing dynamic discovery, fusion, and mediation of information. These techniques will enable the IC to gain greater situational awareness in their mission to preemptively identify and eradicate terrorist threats
