Abstract :
A laboratory experimental set-up for detection of defects in industrial polymer plates is described. The method used is of reflexion, amplitude-phase (RAP) type. The main experimental peculiarity of the set-up is the moving microwave head in respect to the explored plate; some important conditions must be kept: strict parallelism, minimal vibrations, constant angle of exploration. The sample is set on a well polished steel desk and is explored `line by line´. The interferential signal between the incident and reflected waves is detected and plotted as defectograms
