Abstract
The accuracy of FE field computation now available has allowed the voltage distribution in insulation structures to be understood in detail. It is a powerful tool with which, the optimum insulation structure of a power transformer can be ensured under all types of normal and abnormal operating voltage conditions provided the correct model is created. This requires the experience of a skilled operator
