Abstract :
The authors quantitatively investigate light emission during the initiation and early growth stages of electrical treeing in CT200 epoxy and unsaturated polyester resins in order to gain insight into the underlying physical mechanisms responsible for tree initiation and growth. Ultra-sensitive photomultiplier and charge coupled device (CCD) detection techniques have been used to examine the temporal as well as spatial development of tree initiation and growth
