Abstract :
Measurements have been made of current density distribution on the plane in negative point to plane gap in nitrogen and an N2+O 2 mixture at a pressure of 750 torr under improved experimental conditions. The experimental results show that the effect of a small amount of O2 in the mixture with N2 is the cause of the formation of the minimum in the central region, contrary to the suggestion of A. Goldman et al. (1987, 1988)
