Abstract
For the purpose of developing cryo-resistive and high-critical-temperature superconductive cable, the breakdown properties of composite insulation materials under liquid nitrogen temperature have been investigated. Under AC field application, the breakdown strength of polyethylene (PE) ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) composites was found to be better than that of PE or EVA single component materials. Under DC field, the breakdown properties of these materials were strongly affected by the conduction processes of the materials
