Abstract :
Discusses an electric field sensor using a liquid crystal element for a lightning warning device, and to measure the optical transmission against the electric field strength. In this paper, two kinds of sensors, with the electrodes connected in parallel or in series, have been prepared in order to investigate its ability to detect the electric field. The performance test has also been carried out under a thundercloud to confirm the properties of the prepared sensor
