Abstract
Examines the dielectric behavior of small and medium rod-rod air gaps with an insulating barrier, under lightning impulse voltages. The conclusions derived from the experimental investigation, refer to the influence of the gap length and the rod geometry to the breakdown voltage of the air gaps as well as to the definition of the optimum position of the insulating sheet
