Abstract :
A structure capable of equalising communication channels consisting of a memoryless nonlinearity embedded between two linear subsystems is presented. The equaliser is initialised using a system identification procedure. Once initialised it is updated using a simple LMS-type algorithm. Some practical details of its operation are discussed and simulation results are presented
