Abstract :
Analyses the performance of three types of MTI filters suitable for use with high PRF burst waveforms. The post filtering plot extraction processing has been normalised to attain the same false alarm rate against noise. The false alarm rates and target detection probabilities for each filter in two types of distant volumetric clutter have been determined leading to a merit order of the filter types. The high PRF pulse burst results in range ambiguous detections. The consequences for false alarm rate and detection probability on resolving the range ambiguities are discussed
