Abstract :
The relation between the electrical breakdown properties of binary gaseous mixtures of SF6 with CCl2F2 and ternary gaseous mixtures of SF6/N2, SF6/CO2 with CCl2F2 was studied experimentally under different uniformity of field, different pressures, and different partial pressure ratios. The electrical strengths of the binary gaseous mixture SF6/CCl2F 2 with 10-30% CCl2F2 clearly show a positive synergistic effect. The results also indicate that the electrical strengths of ternary gaseous mixtures such as SF6/N2/CCl2F2 with optimal partial pressure ratio can be increased to or exceed that of SF6 , and its cost approaches the cost of the binary gaseous mixture SF6/N2=50/50
