Abstract
The design and properties of travelling-wave optoelectronic devices using coupled coplanar or microstrip and optical waveguides are, discussed. Theoretical and experimental results of high-speed photodetectors, electrooptical modulators, and optical switches are summarized. Special emphasis is futher laid upon field induced waveguiding phenomena.
