Abstract :
This paper presents a compact ultrawideband monopole antenna with 5.5 GHz notched band. By inserting V-shaped slit into the patch of UWB antenna, the notched band is obtained. The V-shaped slit length corresponds to a half guide wavelength of center frequency of band notch. The proposed antenna can rejects the frequencies from 5.3 GHz – 5.65 GHz, resulting in avoidance of electromagnetic interference. The measured results show the impedance bandwidths from 3.1 GHz – 5.2 GHz and 5.7 GHz to over 12 GHz. In addition, the radiation pattern is nearly omnidirectional in xz plane. Therefore, this antenna is a good candidate to apply for various UWB applications.
