Abstract
The EMP threat response of a representative electronic unit and its associated cables is modeled and studied. The electronic unit contains various circuits and their representative RFI filtering. These components are housed in a generic EMC enclosure similar to a standard electronic cabinet. The EMP threat used to investigate the response of the electronic units will be the unclassical EMP waveform defined in MIL-STD-461C Requirement CS10. The analysis is performed using PSPICE to determine the voltage and/ or current damage levels and residual transients. A brief discussion about the current direction of EMP/lightning/transient specifications and standards is also presented
