Abstract :
The author discusses electromagnetic attenuation on open-area test sites for electromagnetic compatibility testing (EMC testing). The discussion starts with site conditions, the clear area and ground plane. The method of attenuation measurement is described along with instrument calibration and possible errors. Final consideration is given to the implications of Fresnel ellipses and the Rayleigh criterion
