Abstract :
The results of composite investigations of breakdown for different oil gaps under positive voltage impulse action showed that the general characteristics of the observed prebreakdown formation (PF) become approximately similar in geometrically similar gaps. However, the nature of the breakdown depends upon experimental conditions and can be realized either in the form of a streamer or in the form of a leader
