Abstract
The results of the Earth space paths radiowave attenuation at 10 to 400 GHz due to rain, for the tropical earth stations at Delhi and Shillong are presented. The observed probability distributions of the rain rates over the two stations differ appreciably from the results reported in the CCIR Report (1990). The values of the one way total attenuation for the Earth space path deduced by using the measured rain rate data are more than the attenuation deduced by using the rain rate data reported in the CCIR Report. The results provided in this paper may be used for estimation of the performance of satellite communication over the north east region and the northern plains of India
