Abstract
A new kind of hybrid power train system was developed for HEV, which is composed of internal combustion engine (ICE), generator, motor, power coupling and split mechanism, and controller. And the power coupling and split mechanism includes planetary gear, brake and clutch. This new system can provide four driving modes for HEV, which are pure electric, pure mechanical, parallel, and parallel/series. It helps to improve fuel economy and dynamic performance.
