    The research and development team responsible for W.L. Gore´s new PTFE based EMI gasketing material (GORE-SHIELD) found that it brought into sharp focus some of the established perceptions of what constitutes a well-designed EMI seal. The paper looks at some of these perceptions with particular attention to the key performance parameters of shielding effectiveness, reusability and corrosion
