Abstract
This paper describes the effort undertook by RGE and CEPEL to investigate power quality problems concerning some industrial customers of RGE. This investigation was carried out during a period of nine months and is part of the company´s policy to assure satisfaction of their large end-users. This paper shows the business approach involving the deregulation of the Brazilian electrical sector and presents the main players in the new scenario. It points out the major role power quality will play in this scenario, showing that power quality investigations are an important trend for utilities. It also presents three cases studied with their major´s issues and conclusions
