Abstract :
In this paper, based on the static compression testing and dynamic compression testing, the static model of polyethylene foam cushion is built. Three basic buffer properties for cushion were summarized. Based on the previous methods and experiences, we have first built the nonlinear viscoelastic plastic dynamic model in the first impact for the polyethylene cushion. The model can reflect the influence of the plastic deformation. Finally, the model´s parameters are identified with the experimental data. Peak acceleration in other impact conditions are calculated. It is found that the calculated result from the model is close to the experimental data.
