Abstract
This paper provides an analysis of the ideal characteristics and the types of deformation on car body structures during front-on and side-on collisions, the structural dimensions of car bodies need to be recovered to repair collided cars that suffer from structural damage to ensure car safety and reliability following repair. Proposal of the processes, principles and methods of car body repair by utilizing multi-purpose fixtures and clamps, accurate 3D measurement system for car bodies, and a multi-directional pulling device, to improve the precision of repair to collided cars, thus reducing reworking rates.
