Abstract :
In this paper, we present a passively mode-locked frequency shifted feedback laser in a simple linear cavity design, containing Yb-doped double clad fiber and an acousto-optic modulator (AOM) used in continuous mode as frequency shifter. We report the generation of ultrashort pulses with energies exceeding 100 nJ directly from a fiber oscillator in a remarkably simple setup and containing only normal dispersion elements.
