  • Abstract
    A novel measurement system based on a commercially available 8 GHz lithium niobate Mach-Zehnder travelling wave integrated optic modulator is described. The system has been used to characterise photodiodes at up to 20 GHz, limited by the frequency response of the pre-amplifier. The measured response of a 25 μm diameter InGaAs photodiode is presented
