A 12 GHz MVDS propagation trial in the Coventry urban area

Describes a 12 GHz propagation trial that was carried out in the Coventry area. The main aim was to assess the suitability of this frequency for a potential MVDS service in an urban environment. The trial was carried out in collaboration with Marconi Defence Systems, Stanmore, from November 1988 to February 1989. The measurements concentrated mainly on the city area of some 7 km radius but also included a propagation of sites further afield. Coventry was chosen for this experiment because of the availability of a 50 m radio tower at the GPT New Century Park location.
