Abstract :
To further strategic R&D, the market analysis is a critical process to examine the values of the technologies developed by R&D teams and product portfolio has been used to examine the market positions of technology applications. We have developed the product portfolio browser that enables users to analyze a complex and fast changing market in a chronological and comparative fashion and reduce risk by more effectively managing R&D resources. However, this tool was limited in that it offers only the navigation among product portfolio charts but does not provide means for constructing the charts from any standard data format, which resulted in the analysis of only a very limited amount of market data. In this paper, we will overview the tool that we developed and explorer the possibility of its enhancement to achieve a powerful and efficient market analysis in a practical way
