Abstract :
Making use of a computer-aided design analyzer, a combination of several statistical operators was studied to discriminate between different discharge sources. Analysis of discharges in gas, liquid, and solid materials revealed that several parameters are characteristic for different discharges. These results offer a good discrimination between different types of defects, and they may be used for developing a diagnostic system of actual high-voltage constructions
