Abstract
The proliferation of PCs in the office place being used for word processing, spreadsheet analysis and database engines has generated a relaxed familiarity in their users. This easy relationship has expedited their acceptance by technicians, scientists and engineers as versatile and powerful tools in an R&D environment. The author discusses the use of PCs in the R&D environment of INSYT. PC applications discussed include: a pin pulling machine; thermal diffusivity rig; and a fluidic pump controller
