Abstract :
High switching frequency and high efficiency combined with careful thermal layout have made it possible to build a lightweight 100 A/48 V, three-phase AC/DC converter without the need for forced air cooling. This was achieved by using a modular building technique. A single three-phase diode bridge rectifier stage is followed by two 2.75 kW DC/DC converter modules that share the same output filter. A microcontroller supervises the power supply and communicates with a central computer in a system for maintenance and supervision of telecommunication power systems
