Abstract :
From experimental observations, the authors describe that the scattering model for breaking or near-breaking sea waves must include the spatial correlation of the radar cross sections that are K-distributed such as those proposed by Oliver (1985); and the random motion of scatterers introduced by Raney (1980). It is also found that the log-normal distribution together with different processor focal settings can be a useful method of detecting small targets in sea clutter
