Abstract :
A circuit for compensating the dead angle in a DC-to-DC converter controlled by a magnetic amplifier is presented. The proposed circuit suppresses the dead angle so that the core loss may be reduced. The behavior of this circuit is explained analytically and a condition for compensation is derived theoretically. By adding this compensation circuit, excellent control characteristics of the converter were obtained without spoiling the current surge suppression characteristics of the magnetic amplifier
