Abstract :
This paper presents design and implementation of a single mode cylindrical microwave cavity for microwave processing of continuously flowing liquids material. The proposed applicator was designed and fabricated to operate in TM010 mode at 2.45 GHz which is in Industrial Scientific and Medical (ISM) frequency bands. A rectangular waveguide was designed to transfer the electromagnetic energy generated from magnetron to heat the liquid sample flowing in the center of the applicator through a quartz tube. Measurement results show low refection coefficient and high heating efficiency for various liquids under test compared with domestic microwave oven.
