Abstract
In indoor applications, radio links are typically subject to large spatial variations in received signal magnitudes. A detailed analysis of this problem is necessary for the evaluation and development of new antenna systems. The analysis should incorporate the behaviour of irregular electromagnetic fields and the interaction between these fields and the antenna system. To the knowledge of the authors, no models have been published that are suitable for such an analysis. In this paper, a model for the irregular electromagnetic fields is obtained by applying Green´s function technique to a room with perfectly conducting walls. An estimate is given for the accuracy of the computed electromagnetic fields. A Thevenin representation of the antenna system is obtained using the Lorentz reciprocity theorem
