Abstract
The benefits likely to result from the use of integrated broadband communications are outlined, and it is suggested that the related equipment, should be designed with the disabled in mind, improving their ability to integrate into society and enabling them to buy the equipment at the same price as everyone else. The paper then examines the provision made in law for the handicapped in the various states of the EEC, and in particular their definitions (where there are any) of handicap
