Abstract :
In this paper, the contents of heavy metals in the southern suburb soil of Jiaozuo city, including Pb, Zn, Ni, Cu, Co and Mn, are determined. The corresponding data was assessed using the methods of single-factor pollution index as well as synthetic pollution index. Based on the characteristics of the contents of the soil heavy metals, the reasons for the heavy metal pollution of soil are analyzed and discussed. The results show that in the experimental area, the surface soil always contains a target heavy metal below the background value. In other words, the soil is slightly-polluted, wherein, Ni is the dominating pollution factor, Pb is a factor resulting in slight pollution, Mn>; Zn and Cu are with the single-factor pollution index around 1.0 which indicates that the soil are at the levels of cleanness or warning line, and for Co the soil is at the safety level. In addition, the synthetic pollution index indicates the soil is at the levels of slight pollution or above.
