Abstract :
A new technique is presented for determining the sensitivity of performance parameters to individual device nonlinearities and for development of simplified models for application to the design of nonlinear circuits such as mixers, frequency multipliers, modulators, etc. Application of this technique is demonstrated for characterization of the nonlinearities present in the active device used in the design of a single-ended microwave mixer. A simplified model is found which identifies the significant nonlinear effects and accurately predicts overall nonlinear circuit performance
