Abstract
The intended introduction of multipoint video distribution systems (MVDS) in the UK around 42 GHz will require that the frequency allocation be extensively re-used. For systems planning, it is necessary to know the likelihood of co-channel interference resulting from anomalous propagation and from diffraction, scatter, etc. An experiment has now been running for some time over a ~40 km coastal path from South Benfleet in Essex to the University of Essex near Colchester, Essex. The essential details of the narrowband millimetre wave system and data logger are summarised. Data gathered on the link are also presented
