Author_Institution :
Orbital Mobile Commun., Basingstoke, UK
Abstract :
Second generation cellular radio networks are presently being implemented, based on agreed specifications for a pan European digital cellular radio system. The paper presents the relevant background to this work applicable to the base station transmitter combining system, and discusses the main requirements, technical issues, and implementation options perceived during the design of a base station (transmitting on 935-960 MHz and receiving on 890-915 MHz) for deployment in 1991
