Abstract :
Rockburst is a type of violent failure in underground rock engineering. Where a rockburst may happen and whether it will happen not only depend on the stress condition but also are related to the system stiffness. Homogeneity of the rock material is just a factor may affect the system stiffness. Based on numerical analysis, this paper compared the different failure modes, AE counts, AE energy and released energy supplied by the loading system during the rockburst tests on three RFPA models with different homogeneity indices. The results confirm that homogeneity index has influence on the occurrence of rockbust, and the violent fialure is more prone to occur on the more homogeneous rock samples.
