Abstract
The author presents problems, perspectives, and strategies for high-level automated contemporary production. It is pointed out that automation levels are determined by manufacturing goals and product complexity. Increasing the effectiveness of an integrated manufacturing system entails the creation of an integrated intensive data exchange information system comprising planning, technology, design, and control systems
