Abstract :
Concerns a two-component flow imaging system. The system allows the cross-sectional component concentration and distribution to be measured, within a restricted time period. These parameters are of importance in determining flow velocity and volume flow rates. Initially, the system has been used for online flow regime recognition. It gives information on hazardous flow patterns, e.g. plug flow. It uses a method of process tomography similar to medial tomography. External sensors are used to image the cross-section of flow. The flow pattern is reconstructed and visually displayed
