Abstract :
The anchorage zone between the suspender and the deck for a large span basket handle through tied arch railway bridge were studied using finite element method, The results show that the steel components bear higher stress as they are closer to the steel filling block under the dead load and the most unfavorable live load. And the stress concentration phenomenon is also more obvious. Both the bottom plate and the buried steel pipe have stress concentrations on the joint lines with the steel filling block respectively. The stress of the steel filling block near its thinner side is larger than that near its thicker side. It´s necessary to increase the thickness of the steel filling block to improve its stress condition. The result of this paper can be for the same type of bridge design reference.
